We met at university in 2003 and started our business shortly after we graduated from university with degrees in Criminology and Sport Science. We wanted to find a career where we could follow our love and passion for animals and started cat sitting in 2005 which grew into our own hotel for cats. We have our own 6 rescue cats, 2 adopted/rescued minature shetlands and ex battery chickens/ducks

In October 2014 we were crowned the UK’s number 1 cattery, -there are over 2000 licensed boarding establishments in the UK and weve been chosen as THE BEST IN THE UK! the pet industry federation awards evening was hosted by Frank Bruno and to hear our name read out was overwhelming.

In September 2015 and 2019 we won the North West best customer service based business at the North West Enterprise Vision Awards the EVA’s which was held in the winter gardens in blackpool.
Winners of Gold at the Pet Quip awards 2021
In 2021 we were awarded the Gold award at the national petquip awards in the category of ‘community projects during a crisis’ The judges wanted to recognise the efforts of the pets country manor team who worked hard for the welfare of cats during the pandemic. The team put together Youtube training sessions advising new owners of how best to introduce cats & kittens into a home & how to look after them. It also opened a feline food bank in Merseyside to help local rescue centres following the lifting of restrictions.

Using EnPlusA1 wood pellets here at the pets country manor which we can also use in our biomass boiler system which heats part of the cattery and all offices/reception/shop, plus the collection of rainwater from the cattery roof into water butts to water our landscaped gardens.

We where voted by judges at the pet industry federation 2013 as one of the top 5 boarding establishments in the UK!!!! -yes the whole of the UK!!!! 🙂 there are over 2000 licensed boarding facilities in the UK and the pets country manor is in the top five. (the other four are down south, -devon, norfolk, surrey and lincoln). we couldnt have made it this far without all our wonderful and loyal customers support so thank you so much everyone 🙂

We represented the North-West of England on behalf of the Princes Trust and were invited to Westminster to meet HRH Prince Charles and the Chancellor of the Exchequer (May 2008) HRH Prince Charles asked us questions about our business for 5 minutes but put us at ease straight away, we loved telling him all about our love and passion for cats and were proud to be setting the standards for cat care in the UK
